Collection of general information

When you access our website, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and the like. This is only information that does not allow conclusions about your person. This information is technically necessary to correctly deliver the contents of web pages requested by you and is mandatory when using the Internet. Anonymous information of this kind is statistically evaluated by us to optimise our Internet presence and the underlying technology.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called ‘cookies’. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. As a result, we automatically receive certain data about your computer and your connection to the Internet such as IP address, browser used, and operating system.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or place viruses on a computer. We can use the information contained in cookies to make navigation easier for you and to enable our web pages to be displayed correctly.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Of course, you can always view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. You can disable the use of cookies at any time via the settings of your browser. Please use the help functions of your Internet browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.

Contact form

If you contact us using the contact options offered, some personal data such as name, address, contact and communication data such as telephone number and e-mail address is collected so that it can be used to process and answer your enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not disclose your data to any third party without your explicit consent. Personal data processed by us in the context of a general contact enquiry by e-mail or contact form is only stored by us for as long as is necessary for the respective correspondence.

Direct booking option on the hotel website

Personal data requested by us in connection with a room booking will only be stored for as long as is necessary for the processing of the contract and any subsequent contract-related correspondence or, in the case of documents relevant under commercial and/or tax law that contain personal data, for as long as the German Commercial Code and the German Fiscal Code stipulate that these documents must be stored. Legal basis for the processing of personal data in connection with a room booking: personal data processed in connection with a room booking is necessary for the performance of the relevant contract, Article 6 GDPR.

Direct booking option on a hotel website, combined with direct advertising via newsletter:

Personal data requested by us in connection with a room booking is used for the purpose of processing the contract. In addition, we use your e-mail address for the purpose of direct advertising for any similar offers we may have, unless you have already objected to this use. You can object to the use for the purpose of direct advertising at any time. Your e-mail address will be stored for the newsletter for as long as you do not object to this use.

Handling of comments and posts

If you add a post or comment to this website, your IP address will be saved. This is to increase the website operator's security: if your text violates the law, the website operator wants to be able to trace your identity.

SSL Encription

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption technology (SSL) via HTTPS.

Erasure or blocking of data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as stipulated by the various storage periods provided for by law. After the respective purpose has ceased to exist or these periods have expired, the corresponding data is routinely blocked or erased in accordance with the statutory provisions.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’, which are text files placed on your computer and which enable the analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymisation on these web pages, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity, and providing other services relating to website activity and Internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. In addition, you can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

In addition, or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent tracking by Google Analytics on our pages by clicking on this link.

Here is the link:

Use of script libraries (Google Web Fonts)

In order to present our contents correctly and with visually appealing graphics across all browsers, we use script and font libraries on this website such as Google Web Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts). Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser's cache to avoid multiple loading. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or does not allow access, content will be displayed in a default font.

Accessing script or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. It is therefore theoretically possible for operators of such libraries to collect data; it is, however, currently unclear whether this is the case and, if so, for what purposes it may be used.

The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Use of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API for the visual display of geographical information. During the use of Google Maps, Google also collects, processes, and uses data on the visitor’s use of the map function. More detailed information on the processing of data by Google can be found in Google’s Privacy & Terms. You can also change your privacy settings here under Privacy Policy.

More information on the handling of user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on some of our web pages. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. This tells YouTube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account first.

When a YouTube video is played, the provider sets cookies in order to collect information about user behaviour.

If you have disabled the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to reckon with any such cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.

You can find further information on data protection at ‘YouTube’ in the provider’s privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

Social plugins

Facebook

Our website uses so-called social plugins (‘plugins’) of the Facebook social network, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (‘Facebook’). These plugins are marked with a Facebook logo or the addition ‘Social plugin from Facebook’ or ‘Facebook social plugin’. You can find an overview of the Facebook plugins and their appearance here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins

If you visit a page on our website containing such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated into the page. Through this integration, Facebook is informed that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook profile or are currently not logged into Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.

If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can directly assign your visit to our website to your Facebook profile. If you interact with the plugins, for example, click on the ‘Like’ button or leave a comment, this information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information will also be posted on your Facebook profile and displayed to your Facebook friends.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as your respective rights and settings options for the protection of your privacy can be found in the Facebook privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website directly to your Facebook profile, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can also prevent the loading of Facebook plugins completely by way of add-ons for your browser, for example for Mozilla Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/facebook-container/; for Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/block-websites-for-google/jdbliieklfhihjpmhhekcoldpcemlafj

Facebook tracking pixel

In addition, we use a Facebook tracking pixel (Visitor Action Pixel) from Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. This allows us to track user behaviour after they have been redirected to our website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This enables us to measure the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes. The collected data remains anonymous. This means that we cannot see the personal data of any individual user. However, this data is stored and processed by Facebook. Facebook may link this information to your Facebook account and also use it for its own promotional purposes in accordance with Facebook’s data policy. You can allow Facebook and its partners to place ads on and off Facebook. You can allow Facebook and its partners to place ads on and off Facebook. You can edit the settings for Facebook's ads under the following link: https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/.

Google+

Our website uses so-called social plugins (‘plugins’) of the Google+ social network, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (‘Google’). The plugins can be identified, for example, as buttons with the sign ‘+1’ on a white or coloured background. An overview of the Google plugins and their appearance can be found here: https://developers.google.com/+/plugins.

If you visit a page on our website containing such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Google servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Google directly to your browser and integrated into the page. Through this integration, Google is informed that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Google+ profile or are currently not logged into Google+. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

If you are logged into Google+, Google can directly assign your visit to our website to your Google+ profile. If you interact with the plugins, for example, click on the ‘+1’ button, this information is also transmitted directly to a Google server and stored there. The information will also be posted on Google+ and displayed to your contacts there.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google, as well as your respective rights and settings options for the protection of your privacy can be found in the Google privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

If you do not want Google to assign the data collected via our website directly to your Google+ profile, you must log out of Google+ before visiting our website. You can also prevent the loading of Google+ plugins completely by way of add-ons for your browser, for example with the script blocker ‘NoScript’ (https://noscript.net/).

Google Ads

Our website uses Google conversion tracking. If you arrive at our website via an advert placed by Google, Google Ads will set a cookie on your computer. The cookie for conversion tracking is set when a user clicks on an advert delivered by Google. These cookies lose their effectiveness after 30 days and cannot be used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google are able to recognise that the user has clicked on the advert and has been forwarded to this page. Every Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Cookies therefore cannot be traced via the websites of Ads customers. The information that is gathered with the help of conversion cookies serves to produce conversion statistics for Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. The customers are informed about the total number of users who have clicked on their advert and been forwarded to a site with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which the users could be personally identified.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking, you can decline the setting of the cookies required for this; this can be done, for example, via your browser settings, which disable the automatic setting of cookies generally, or by setting your browser up in such as way that cookies are blocked from the domain ‘googleleadservices.com’.

Please note that you cannot delete the opt-out cookies as long as you wish no measurement data to be recorded. If you have deleted all your cookies in your browser, you must reset the opt-out cookie.

Use of Google remarketing

This website uses the remarketing function of Google Inc. This function serves to present adverts to website visitors within the Google advertising network based on the visitors’ interests. A so-called cookie is stored in the browser of the website visitor which enables it to recognise the visitor again when they visit these web pages belonging to the Google advertising network. On these pages, users are shown adverts that relate to content that the users previously accessed on websites using Google’s remarketing function.

Google claims that it does not collect any personal data during this process. Should you nevertheless not wish to use Google’s remarketing function, you can always disable it by changing the corresponding settings under https://adssettings.google.com/. Alternatively, you can disable the use of cookies for interest-based advertising via the advertising network initiative by following the instructions under https://thenai.org/opt-out/.

Newsletter

When registering to receive our newsletter, the data you provide will be used exclusively for this purpose. Subscribers may also be informed by e-mail of circumstances relevant to the service or registration (for example, changes to the newsletter service or technical circumstances).

For an effective registration, we require a valid e-mail address. In order to verify that a registration has actually been made by the owner of an e-mail address, we use the ‘double-opt-in’ procedure. For this purpose, we log the subscription to the newsletter (data entered in the input mask during registration, such as title, first name, last name, e-mail), the sending of a confirmation e-mail, and the receipt of the required reply. No further data is collected. The data is used exclusively for sending the newsletter and is not passed on to third parties.

You can withdraw your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for sending newsletters at any time. There is a corresponding link for this purpose in every newsletter. You can also inform us of your withdrawal of consent via the additional contact options indicated on the website. Your data will then be deleted from our system immediately.

Competition

On our website, you have the opportunity to participate in a competition organised by our hotel. The data provided on the competition form will be used for the sole purpose of determining a winner. For this purpose, we log the completed participation form (data entered in the input mask during registration, such as title, first name, last name, e-mail), the sending of a confirmation e-mail, and the receipt of the required reply. No further data is collected. The data is used exclusively for the duration of the competition and is not passed on to third parties. After the end of the competition, your data will be deleted.

External links

Our website contains links to external websites of third parties on whose content we have no influence. The operators of the respective websites are responsible for the information contained on the linked sites. At the time the links were created, no unlawful content was discernible, but it is not possible for us to permanently monitor the content of the linked pages.

Your rights to information, rectification, restriction of processing, erasure, and objection

You have the right to receive information about your personal data stored by us at any time. Likewise, you have the right to rectification, restriction of processing or, except for the mandatory retention of data for the purpose of processing the transaction, erasure of your personal data. Please contact our data protection officer in this regard. You will find the contact details at the end.

So that a restriction of processing can be respected at any time, this data must be kept in a protected file for control purposes. You may also request the erasure of the data, unless there is a statutory retention obligation. Insofar as such an obligation exists, we will restrict processing of your data upon request.

You can make changes or withdraw consent by notifying us accordingly with future effect.

Changes to our privacy policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy from time to time so that it always complies with current legal requirements or in order to reflect any changes, for example when introducing new services. The new privacy policy will then apply to your next visit.
